Lieut. Col. Childs, of the 3d Regiment U. S. Artillery, sailed on the Alabama yesterday evening for the Bay of Aransas, to take command of the Battalion of that Regiment of which two companies sailed from Charleston, S. C., on the 4^th inst. in the Cincinnati.
