Not a word by his arrival do we have from
the troops at Corpus Christi, to indicate any change in the health of the
soldiers, or their habits of activity. There is not even sufficient
prospect of a fight for them to talk about. Business continues animated,
Mexican traders arriving and departing freely. The Galveston News says
that Maj. Hays and Capt. McCullough, with their companies will mounted,
are now on an expedition to the Rio grand.
