January 18, 1846 Article 1
Corpus Christi. — We have read with great
interest a letter from Corpus Christi, written under circumstances
somewhat distressing, orders having just been received that the army,
which was expecting orders to advance, must await the settlement of the
boundary question. Nevertheless, the tenor of the letter leads us to
believe that the officers are not altogether desperate for want of means
of entertainment. We make some extracts, although in so doing we mare the
spirit of our friend’s communication. The portion we publish will be
found in another column.
