Died
At the Hospital, Camp Corpus Christi, Texas,
on Saturday, the 6th of Dec., 1845, of typhoid pleurisy, after
an illness of thirteen days, Lieut. William T. Allen; of the 2d Regt., U.
S. Dragoons, in the 21st year of his age.
In announcing the death of this promising
young officer, to his many affectionate relatives and friends at a
distance, it may be gratifying to them to know that during his illness he
enjoyed the ____________ and attention of his physicians and friends, and
hundreds of his fellow officers took advantage of every opportunity which
was afforded them, to show in what big estimation they held the many
virtues and manly qualities of their deceased comrade, as well as regret
his illness and death.
