Second Lieut., 8th Infantry, July 1, 1841.

          Served:  in garrison at Ft. Columbus, N. Y., 1841; in the Florida War against the Seminole Indians, 1841-42, being engaged in the Rout of Halleck Tustennuggee’s Band in the Big Hammock of Pilaklikaha, Apr. 19, 1842; in garrison t Ft. Brooke, Fla., 1843-44, 1845;

(First Lieut., 8th Infantry, Dec. 3, 1845)

in Military Occupation of Texas, 1845-46; in the War with Mexico, 1846, being engaged in the Battle of Palo Alto, May 8, 1846, -- and Battle of Resaca-de-la-Palma, May 9, 1846, where he was wounded; on Recruiting service, 1846-47; and in the War with Mexico, 1847, being engaged in the Siege of Vera Cruz, Mar. 9-29, 1847, -- as Quartermaster, 8th Infantry, 1847, -- Battle of Cerro Gordo, Apr. 17-18, 1847, -- Capture of San Antonio, Aug. 20, 1847, -- Battle of Churubusco, Aug. 20, 1847, -- and Battle of Molino del Rey, Sep. 8, 1847, where he was Mortally Wounded.

Died of Wounds, Sep. 10, 1847:   Aged 28.
